Gerald D. Wages, FACHE receives
ACHE Regent's Award
Senior-Level Healthcare Executive of the Year

 

The Mississippi Healthcare Executives an independent chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) presented Gerald Wages, FACHE, Executive Vice President of North Mississippi Health Services with the 2009 Senior Healthcare Executive Award.  Mr. Wages was a key part of North Mississippi Medical Center's transition into the largest rural hospital in America and has played a large role in their continued success over the years.  His leadership in dealing with healthcare challenges has been effective at both state and national levels.  Mr. Wages serves on the AHA's Board of Trustees, Chairman of AHA's Regional Policy Board 4, a member of the Board of Directors of the Mississippi Hospital Association (chair 2005-06) and most recently, served as a member of the Governor's Advisory Committee for Medicaid, AHA's Task force on Healthcare Liability Reform and the AHA Advisory Group on Chronic Care Management. 

The ACHE Regent’s Award is presented annually to a health care executive with more than 20 years of healthcare experience. It recognizes Wages for his “significant contributions toward the achievement of the goals of the ACHE and the advancement of healthcare management excellence.”



Colin O'Sullivan Receives ACHE Early Career
Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award

 

Colin O'Sullivan, Chief Executive Officer, Regency Hospital Meridian was the recipient of the 2009 Early Careerist Award. Mr. O'Sullivan was responsible for the transformation of increased morale, decreased turnover, and higher physician satisfaction with the capabilities and outcomes achieved by the Regency Hospital Meridian team. 

The award was bestowed on O'Sullivan by the Mississippi Healthcare Executives, an independent chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives. The Early Career Healthcare Executive Regent’s Award recognizes ACHE affiliates who have significantly contributed toward the advancement of health care management excellence and the achievement of the goals of ACHE. 

Affiliates are evaluated on leadership ability, innovative and creative management, executive capability in developing their own organization and promoting its growth and stature in the community, participation in local, state, or provincial hospital and health association activities, participation in civic/community activities and projects, participation in ACHE activities, and interest in assisting ACHE in achieving its objectives.
