F.A.Q.

I recently joined ACHE, how do I become a local chapter member?
Good news, you don’t have to do anything. When you join as a national member as a MS resident, you are automatically an affiliate of the Mississippi Healthcare Executives Chapter (unless you elect not to participate). Your email address and contact information will automatically populate into our chapter’s roster.
In what district is Mississippi Healthcare Executives Chapter located?
District four (4), which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.

How are the Chapter’s 3 Districts organized?

The Northern District covers the area from the MS/TN border south to approximately US 82.  Major cities include: Southaven, Tupelo, Oxford, Greeville, Columbus, and Starkeville.

The Central District covers the area from US 82 south to I-20.  Major cities include: Jackson, Vicksburg and Meridian.

The Southern District covers the remainder of the state, south of I-20.  Major cities include: Hattiesburg, Gulfport, Natchez and Pascagoula.
I am a current ACHE affiliate and just moved to Mississippi. How do I transfer my membership to this local chapter?
First, update your profile/address at My ACHE on ACHE’s website (ache.org). Next, contactRobin Powell and confirm your information was automatically updated to the Chapter’s roster. This is especially important if you’re a Uniformed Services or Veteran’s Affairs member (District 6) currently residing in MS.
How do I update my contact information?
To update your profile, visit ACHE’s website and go to the My ACHE section.
How do I get more involved in Chapter activities?
We’re always looking for volunteers to facilitate a seminar, serve as the Webmaster for this site, assist with membership initiatives, serve on the Board, etc. If you’d like to become more involved with YOUR Chapter, please contact the Board member representing your district (North, Central, South).
How often are Chapter events held?
We have two regularly scheduled meetings a year. Our Winter Meeting is usually held late Jan/early Feb at the Mississippi Hospital Association(MHA) in Madison, MS. Our second meeting is held in conjunction with the MHA’s Annual Leadership Conference, usually in Jun. Both meetings offer ACHE Face-to-Face Education credit opportunities, updates concerning healthcare in the state, and a chance to network with peers from across the state. Additionally, the three districts within the Chapter hold meetings throughout the year within their respective districts.
Are there any costs associated with the MSHE events?
There are registration fees associated with educational events where ACHE Face-to-Face Education credits are offered, but we strive to keep those costs as low as possible.
I am interested in advancing to Fellow. Is there a local representative to help with this?
MSHE hosts a Board of Govenors exam preparation session in conjunction with our Winter meeting. You can also find information about advancement to Fellow here.
