President’s Message – Q2 2018

Our chapter leadership team has been working hard to help offer local ACHE education for our membership. We hope to see you at our upcoming ACHE panels that each provide 1.5 hours of face-to-face credit free of charge. We have two in September and one in November in locations in the southern, central and northern regions of the state. Our chapter always offers the maximum number of face-to-face hours that ACHE allows because you have let us know that is important for your membership value.

This fall, we are offering a panel geared towards students and early careerists. Mark your calendar now! One of our goals as a chapter is to recruit and retain more student members. We would also like to welcome Loryn Pane to the Mississippi Healthcare Executives Board as Student Representative.

Thank you to our presenters and participants at the Mississippi Healthcare Executives Summer Meeting, held in Point Clear, Ala., in June. Congratulations to Karen Dowling, Chief Ambulatory Officer at Children’s of Mississippi. She was presented the Senior Healthcare Executive Award during the summer meeting. Daniel Enger, operational improvement director at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, was presented the Early Careerist Award.

If you ever have questions about our chapter events, education, or just want to learn more about how you can become more involved at a local or state level, feel free to reach out to any of us on the Board. We are happy to answer questions and help make connections.

Sincerely,

Chandler Ewing
