President’s Message – Q2 2017
Dear Mississippi Healthcare Executives:
Thanks to all of you who attended our face-to-face (F2F) education events in June. We had a great group of attendees and our presenters did not disappoint. It is enjoyable to spend time with colleagues to discuss work challenges, family life, and share a laugh.
Panel presentations such as these require the work of many people. Kudos to our Board of Directors and members who contributed. We also appreciate the Mississippi Hospital Association’s support of our chapter’s efforts! Specifically, Shawn Rossi and Robin Powell who were recognized by our state regent for their efforts over many years to support Mississippi Healthcare Executives.
Also, please be sure to mark your calendar for other education opportunities coming this year. The Organization of Nurse Executives will offer a F2F panel discussion in Madison, MS on September 15, 2017. The Southern region of the chapter will offer a F2F panel at the Biloxi VA on September 22, 2017. There is no cost to participate in the Biloxi VA event. The Northern region will offer additional events in the October/November timeframe. More details to come. We hope you can attend one or all these events.
As we roll into summer, I am sure many of you have activities planned with family and friends. It is our sincere wish for you to take the time to truly disengage from work for at least a short period to rejuvenate. On a personal note, I am the parent of a recent college graduate. He leaves very soon for his new life and job in a different part of the country. It is moments such as this which cause us to take stock in how we have spent our time. The chances to give of yourself with those you care about are fleeting. The email messages and the phone will still be there in a couple of days. The key, as with all your other efforts, is planning.
Your Board Members are here to serve and help provide value for your membership. Please reach out to any of us personally with questions, comments, and/or concerns!
With great respect,
